I was wondering if anyone else out there has had a problem with the BR-111 Eucalyptus. I purchased approximately 1000 square feet in 2005 and have some issues with this floor. It has been cupping and shrinking at the same time. I have been told by an inspector that there is no manufaturing defect. They say that moisture and site realted conditions are the problem. My floor had been acclimated for 3 weeks prior to installation. At the time of install, the moisture content of the wood was 9.2 and the plywood was 11.1.

I notice that BR-111 does not sell this wood anymore and wonder if they were having problems with this product.

If anyone can give me any info, I would greatly appreciate it.[/b]

Cupping and shrinking at the same time....

Raise the rH levels!!!! The top of the boards have dried considerably, compared to the bottom of the board, next to the subfloor.

Cupping = The top of the board has less MC then the bottom of the board.

it is the species too... requires more RH..
That wood is more comfortable in higher Relative Humidity.
Perry is correct.. it dried and dried fast.. maybe when you turned on the heat?
