I'm being told by the manufacturer not to exceed 20' without a transition board. So I was planning on starting in the middle of the room and installing the wood in both directions. Does this sound acceptable or don't I need to worry about it? Thank you, Dave

The 20 foot width is the rule of thumb. You are over 20 feet so start in the middle and lay the flooring in both directions.

Also, if you aren't already, become familiar with the acclimation process, hardwood flooring and subfloor moisture contents, and maintaining household relative humidity within a hardwood floor friendly range year round. The wider the flooring, the more susceptible to changes in relative humidity in the house.
