I am installing ash hardwood in my new home. The wood was kiln dried for weeks and wet work is complete in the home. Everything I’ve read focuses on the hardwood absorbing moisture and swelling or cupping, but my flooring RH and moisture content are above that of the subfloor. It has acclimated for 3 days so far and the HVAC is running like it will be when occupied. Am I safe to install?

As long as your RH in the home is within the manufacturer recommended range for installation, you are good to install - depending on the product, this could be between 40-55% on average (always read and follow any instructions that came with the product).

With summer installs, just watch the hardwood doesn't pick up excess humidity from outside.

I don’t have manufacturer guidelines because we had it cut at a local lumber mill, but my temp and humidity Are good. Thanks!
