My 3/4" solid Brazilian Cherry is sitting in the room where it will be installed. Do I need to open the cases and stack the wood with airflow spaces, or will it reach an equilibrium just fine in its packaging (cardboard boxes strapped around the bundles).

I have a couple more weekends of prep and layout activities to do, so the wood just sits, but I would like to make sure its time is well spent. I'd like to check it with a moisture meter to be sure, but I'm not finding one to borrow. Does anyone know if the cheap ($30) ones I see for sale are sufficient for the plank/subfloor equilibrium check?

Wait a couple of weeks for acclimating if you are going to leave the wood in the boxes. Only one week if you take it out and "sticker" it. Ensure your home is at normal temperature (65 to 75). I wouldn't sweat checking your subfloor with a moisture meter. Normally, I would insist on it but your on the second floor above a living space. Where is the moisture going to come from except a plumbing leak? If you can find a meter, great! If not, I'd bet your fine. Good luck!

Read his previous posts! He also posted a very nice diagram of his floor plan. It's all there! In fact, you commented on the good job I did on helping him on his layout!
