Hi all,

My apologies for the shouting in the Subject. Had some issues yesterday with Bona DriFast stain color uniformity (50/50 mix of Red Sedona and Ebony). I want to make the lighter inconsistencies less noticeable by tinting the Bona Traffic HD with Transtint.

What is the max amount of Transtint that can be added to the traffic?

Can I tint the Bona DriFast sealer as well?

Any issue if I have to apply 5 to 6 coats of Traffic to get the look I want? In other words, is there such a thing as too many coats of Traffic?

Going to be doing this today. Prompt responses much appreciated. On my way to Woodcraft now to pick up the Transtint.

Sometimes a firm buffing will help even out color differences. I use #2 steel wool, although you can use a steel wool substitute since steel wool can rust with water-based finishes. Use a light tint after the first clear coat, so you know how the stain really looks, then use another coat to get the right look, protected by a clear coat.
