SP would have liked this NWFA educational session. I should have run my video camera for this one. There are supposed to be links covering the session but I'll be danged if I'll ever find them

New Construction Claims Prevention

Installing a floor in unfavorable conditions

A lot of stuff I didn't know especially T&G plywood. I never saw it being used in Florida when I was doing floors and yea, there were a number of wood sub floors along the coast and into Sanibel and Captiva island on what I would call stilt homes. Maybe there's a more technical exact name.

Panalization caused by dry conditions below...plywood sheets contract. That must be more a northern thing with furnaces in basements?

I should have gone to more of these things in the past.

Oh yes, and I've never really been a part of any new construction site that had favorable conditions!
Plywood and hardwood plywood are all similar in many respects. I try and stay within favorable conditions as most of the time here is the desert its usually unfavorable conditions with the low rh and all.
And funny this should come up after fixing a delaminated engineered plank today at a mansion where the owner refuses to humidify the house. I peeled the face right off a very well known and expensive manufacturer/s product.

Here's some info http://www.hpva.org/sites/default/files ... r_ANSI.pdf

And then of course this is well worth the money if your working with engineered hardwood. https://www.hpva.org/product/hard-copy- ... va-ef-2012
