yesterday i did a buff and coat . I put a coat of traffic on an oak floor that i believe it was an oiled based finish before . i asked a few people a knew who do flooring more often them me and they say it should be fine as long as i do a test area. everything went fine except in two rooms i put the finish down in some areas and it would turn whiteish and crumbly . i dont know if it was somewhat contaminated in the areas or not. does anyone know whats this may be from and how to fix it

theres definitely something on the floor..

dont know what u mean b whitish or crumbly though.. it possibly may have alligated..this is due contamination.wax, murphys
polishes etc..

it probably will peel.U may have to resand it now..
at lvery least, if it bonded ok..this u can test by scratching it with your finger nail..if it scratches easily or u can peel it..its done..if not...you can try buff n coat again
