Hello. I have settled on a Bruce 3/4 solid flooring. I am currently comparison shopping and have found some internet prices to be $1 sq ft cheaper than my best brick and mortar retailer. Shipping costs aside, should I be concerned about ordering from an internet retailer as opposed to Lowes or Bob's Flooring, etc? Thanks. JT

Depending on the installer; I would use internet site to save the money. Brick and Mortar Stores do not always have the best installers so finding your own installer then purchasing the material is a good idea. Those participating on this forum can give you a good idea on how to find a qualified installer.
Who does not like saving money?

Save the mony on the wood and spend it on the installer, you wont regret it. The hosting site of this board has good rates and are an asset to the community unlike some other major online outlets. As well if you do decide to purchase local you can use internet prices to squeaze local suppliers. Calculate your shipping and sq ft cost and then present it to the shop if they want you business they will try to match it. They may charge a little more for the convienence or they may so nope but it is worth a try if you are dead set on buying local.

I have yet to find flooring products sold at Home Depot or Lowe's, available on the internet. They are private labelled for those 2 big box stores.

They just put a different name on them.

Example:

Bruce American Originals Maple is the same as Cliffton Plank(HD name) Same sku#

Compare:
