Hi

I am looking to advice on these two manufacturers. I am considering Solid Hardwood in natural Oak , since my staircase is already Oak. ( not sure if it is red or white).
- How can I tell if it is red oak or white oak?
- I am able to get Bruce for little lower price compared to Model Flooring ( Select and Better)
for about 0.60C more than Bruce. I looked for the 'Model' company from Quebec , found very few links reviewing this company.

Any advice on the quality of this company and how does this compare to Bruce Hardwood Flooring
Thanks
...Asha

I am not familiar with Model, looking at their website it looks like a nice product, And as far as I am considered almost anyone is better then Bruce except maybe LL.

I just find to many poorly milled boards with Bruce compared to Columbia or Somerset Options. Although Columbia seems to be hit or miss these days since Mohawk bought them. Somerset is my brand of choice for the price.

Asha .Post of good quality picture of your stair treads and I will tell you if they are red or white. Just so you know, some flooring supply companies sell a chemical test kit that you can use to test your actual wood for Red or White.

I would definitely go with the Bruce we have instaled both and always found it to be better milled and the grading was better also.
