Hello, glad I found you guys! I am remodeling my kitchen and I had hardwood floors installed today. 4" red oak. came out beautiful. My plan was to have my family stay at my elderly parents house for a couple of days while the floor was finished. with is virus stuff I no longer have the option to do that. I also have more kids home than expected because the colleges closing. Anyway, I have kitchen cabinets coming on Monday and my question is would it be okay to install the cabinets/appliances and leave the floors unsanded and unfinished for a few months? if I do this the flooring under the cabinets would remain unfinished.
Thanks in advance!

Because this is the kitchen maybe put down some floor mats to protect from liquid food stains that may soak in and be difficult to sand out.

Ram board and plastic. Water stains do not sand out of oak as easily as pine and other species. If it were my job I would lay down Ram board and plastic or vice versa. Protect your investment
