Can I live on a floor for 2 months before finishing? I can handle slivers and stubbed toes, but want the floor to turn out as well as it can.

I'm thinking I install it, live on it, then sand/finish 2 months later approx.. No kids, pets, water, spills, stains, outside shoes, etc allowed.

I have done several new construction projects where the wood floor is installed with no finish, weathering tilers, carpenters, electricians etc. for a couple months at a time. When I go back to sand them there has never been anything that I could'nt sand out.

Though I don't do new construction I would agree with jab. I wouldn't even cover it with paper. I would not worry.
