Can oil based polyurethane be applied with a china bristle brush without streaking or brush marks? I ask because the floor guy I have been using has consistently left applicator marks and even puddles with his t-bar synthetic oil based applicator.

Provided I got the floor rescreened I am wondering if I could coat 286 sq feet with 4" or 6" brush. I am hoping I could greatly control the coverage and detect trash in the finish and in the area I'm preparing to coat. Please advise.

Thanks

I find that a 5" china bristle brush works best with a gallon can of poly-urethane. Punch a couple of holes in the rim.
Lambswool applicator fastened to a 16 inch block with a six foot handle works best for me. Less fumes when standing up. Cut in with a 2" chip brush.
