 Post subject: carpet masking

Should carpet be masked with blue tape? I have two areas that could problematic, (1) where the carpet deadheads into the floor from the stair riser and (2) on the flat, where the vestibule meets the great room.

Please be more specific. Are you wanting to mask off because you are applying finish to wood floors?
