A brick or tile floor is not comfortable to walk on for some people. I have had clients remove tile and brick to install wood flooring. A good pre-finished floor is easy to keep clean and will last for decades with a coat of finish applied to keep it looking good and easy to maintain after 5-20 years depending on how you take care of it.

In my family we have always had a brick floor until 10 years ago when we replaced it with a wooden floor, and it is the best thing we have done.

If you like the look and texture of brick, try looking at some "Handscraped" wood floors - they have a textured finish that is natural looking and closer to the feel of brick, if that's your thing.

Tile and Wood each of them have their own distinct advantages and disadvantages, and, of course, it always depends on the use of them.

Hardwood- pros:

can be stained many different shades and comes with different width
can be refinished many times
should last a lifetime.
timeless
Warm to bare feet

Hardwood- cons

can get scratched by dogs, chairs with casters, young children that play rough
Not many options for appearance
Not a good choice for bathrooms due to the moisture
Relishing costs every 5–10 years depending on first bullet point

Tile- pros

Thousands of design styles including some that look like hardwood, many even have a wood grain texture
very durable, does not scratch

Tile- cons

Can go out of style (depending on choice) what is in today may not be 10 years from now
Cold to bare feet (can be solved with heated floor(installed at same time as floor tile)
can crack if something heavy is droped on it

After seeing these you might get a clear view on it.

Rest is upto you

Hardwood vs tiles is an eternal question, isn't it... I was so sure of my choice until I had to actually decide and then I wasn't sure at all anymore haha. Went with the hardwood in the end, but the kids do leave their mark on the hardwood. If you have small children or plan to have them, you just have to decide how big of a deal a scratch here and there is to you.
