Are they good for replacing the work of the hand held random orbital ?

I haven't used the ez sand, but I have used the U sand which I believe is pretty similar. It worked pretty nicely. We use to palm sand all of the edges when staining floors and we have switched to this. It saves tons of time. Maybe consider renting one to try it out. Home Depot rents these.
