Hi!

My floor joists run East to West. My subflooring (solid wood) runs North to South.

What direction should I install my finish, or "fashion" flooring?

The finish flooring is 1/2" thick, 5 1/8" wide, 72" length solid strand woven bamboo.

I am planning on nailing it for installation. I live in the SF Bay area.

Have you considered laying diagonally, a very contemporary style?

Wow! No, I have never considered laying the flooring diagonally! That sounds like it would look gorgeous!
