DIYer - installing a new floor - 1X8 South Yellow Pine - (2) rooms, common area, small entry way and (3) stairs...Couple of questions:

1) Where to begin? Rooms are a kitchen 13X20 with common wall between a dining room 13X12. A small common area between with (3) steps down to a small entry way.

- do I start from a reference line off of one of the rooms?
- do I start from the top stair landing - bullnose landing tread?

2) What's the best way to secure the top landing tread... top nail - glue - other method?

Thank you for your review and insights...!

Consider your focal points... Where is the longest one... That is where to begin. :)
