 Post subject: Engineer or 3/4" hardwood for stairs

which is better to put on stairs, engineered or 3/4 inches hardwood. your suggestion will be very helpful.

You left out thin solid, in your choices.

Of coarse a thick solid is going to be able to be resanded back to bare wood more times then the others.

The best choice imo is using solid stair treads, not flooring.

thank you thomas and floorguy. i was thinking of engineered first, due to easy installation and i had few left over.
but i too feel 3/4 inches soild wood will be better for stairs. thanks.

yes stair tread is the best option, but its very expensive. it costs me about 60 dollar a piece.
