Is there actually a difference between European White oak and American White Oak? Will I get the same look if I use American White Oak in a 'French' or 'Euro' cut?
This is the look I am going for:

thoughts?!
(on cut / species and stain)
Thank you so much! I am lost...

The main difference between american and european oak, is the way it's being cut. The look of the board differs greatly from the american oak look, which is usually cut either plain, quarter or rift sawn.

However, as you seem to know, the "French" or "Eurocut" practiced by some companies here on American oak, achieves very similar results. So, to answer your question - Yes, you can achieve a very similar look.
