Hi Guys,

What is your opinion on filling expansion gaps with cork?

In my particular case I have few transitions between parquetry and tiles and height difference is about 3 mm (under 1/8" for you imperial folk!) which is too thin for wood strips. So if I was to go with wood transitions I would need I guess at least extra 1/8th creating a bump of 1/4".

Filling gaps with cork strips (set in glue) would provide with a nice flat transition, but will the gap still perform its function?

Thanks for comments,
Alexei
