Maybe your gals o.k. with painted shoe ,to match the base? Depending on the height & profile of the base, maybe it can look o.k. ?

Well we're going with the Mirage I guess. She wants a 3/8 gap and use a 5/8 base and no transition strips in the bedroom doorways. I'll have her sign off on it, she agreed to pay me to come do surgery later if need be.

I have my reservation about a sawn face glued to a paper core but we will see.
