My wife had vinyl and hardwood floors installed by a retired flooring installer while I was away. My problem is that the hardwood and vinyl floors touch(no gap) and I need to install transitions. The local flooring stores have told me several different things. Any help will be appreciated.

Are the floors flush in height? Is the wood floor fastened down or glued?
