Concrete slab! Is is practical to glue 3\4" solid asian hardwood (DBM brand) over existing (apparently) stable 3\8" engineered strip flooring (Bruce brand)?

The existing floor was glued down over a concrete slab and hasn't had a problem with moisture over a ten year period. The finish is about done, but structurally it seems sound. I was thinking about placing the wood at right angles (perpendicular) to the existing wood.

Thanks for any input.

I wouldn't do it. But you might find someone to take your money.

You cannot make a sandwich with an existing wood floor glued to concrete. Even floating a new floor over it is not an option here. You could try to have it refinished or you will have to take it up.

Have you thought about laying 1/2 plywood over the current wood flooring and then nailing the new floor to it?
