Please Help
I have read alote of questions about glue down wood floor to concrete , and it doesnt sound good. Is it really as bad as it sounds or have there been alote of bad installs. I am looking at having the BR-111 brazilian cherry 5/16 installed in my home. I called the manufacturer and they said it was fine as long as the moisture was OK, under 4lbs per sq/in.

Can someone tell me the truth about this.
Thanks Brett

As long as it is under 4-lbs per 1000 sq.ft. Not right at 4 or 3.75 either.

It also has to stay below 4. Concrete moisture is dynamic, not static!

It is not a good idea to put a solid over concrete, although there are some pricy moisture sealer / adhesive systems that will warranty a installation from moisture vapor emissions.

5/16 does not have as much capacity to hold on to moisture as thicker procucts. Is your slab on grade?

Yes it is on grade and is also in a very good water drainage area.
Thanks

Go for it. I would use a water free adhesive. It makes the install faster and you don't have to worry about the adhesive affecting the material.

I am a big fan of dri-tac urethane.
