Hi, my name is Brandon and I am a DIYer working on my own home. I have an old parquet floor that is glued down to a leveling compound leveled uneven sub floor. I decided to put my engineered floor over top of the parquet A) because I needed the height to match up with existing flooring and B) When I tried to Demo the parquet the leveling compound was actually coming up with the wood.
My question is how do I have to prepare the parquet surface before I glue down the engineered flooring with a urethane latex glue? Do I have to do anything? Drum sand the whole surface? Or somehow chemically treat it? Obviously I'm looking for the simplest solution.
Thanks in advance, Brandon
