Here are a few pictures from a habitat house my church has been working on. My distributor Cascade Pacific donated some 1G maple with a micro bevel for this project. That gave me the opportunity to allow my helper to try his hand at sanding for the first time. It also gave me the opportunity to attempt to try staining a maple floor.

We water popped the floor and applied a custom "garbage mix" of stain. She wanted dark floors. I just applied my first coat of Traffic this evening. I finished late and no pics yet.

I was very pleased how it has turned out. Nice since I have two customers interested in a stained maple floor. Now that I have one under the belt I am not concerned. 8)

Looks nice and even. Great Job.

What's your technique for water application?

We use what my helper calls the "Cinderella" method. Bucket and stain rags on our knees. :)
