I have a question about a the hardwood flooring in my new house, and hopefully someone would be able to help me out. I pulled up the carpet in my living room and there is hardwood floor underneath. It seems to be in very good shape and appears to be sealed. The carpet is only 3 to four years old so im assuming the previous owner just didnt like it (and put pink carpet over top). The problem is that she also put tile down in front of the front door. The tile comes right off, but obviously the grout is sticking to the hardwood. I'm not really sure how to take off the grout without damaging the hardwood. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I have sanded grout before - albeit on subfloor - and it has come off. I also used a paint scraper but if you are not careful you will gouge the wood. I would try a belt sander and then drum sand and refinish the entire floor.

Good luck.
