 Post subject: how can i lighten red oak flooring

We installed new stair treads of red oak. They meet a floatjng floor that is an armstrong. Beech color that they no longer make. We new they wouldn't be exact but theylooked close enough until the first coat of clear poly. Do you have any suggestions of what we could do at this Point?

The armstrong swiftlock is called beech
