HELP, I currently did a sand and finish with poly oil which I don't work with often. The home owner just called and said there's a small dull spot in the semi-gloss finish. I put 3 coats of duraseal semi-gloss applied with a lambswool applicator. The spot is in a small hallway and I'd like to know if there's any way to repair it without coating the whole job. The finish was applied yesterday and I told the home owner to stay off for 3 days and she didn't listen.

Please help.

A small holiday or dull spot will be able to be fixed by taping off along the edges of the boards. be careful to make 90 degree corners at the ends of boards or use the butt-joints for your sopping spot.
We all try to be perfect and the client got her monies worth, but a small fix is all that is necessary.

Thanks Pete, I rubbed it with my fingered it started to go away so I buffed it with a rag dampened with thinner and it disappeared completely. I told her it might come back and when it does to give me a call after all trades and touch-ups are done and I'll put another coat. She called me 2 days later and said it still looks beautiful.

I reassured her I'm always at the other end of the phone...
