Installation of August brand white oak 3/4" thick, 3.25" wide, t&g, prefinished. 1000 sqft. On 3/4" advantec(spelling?) subfloor above basement. New construction. Flooring placed in house with boxes open the day the heating and air got turned on. Manufacturers guidlines say acclimation period of 4-5 days, then install to NOFMA guidlines. 15lb felt paper over subfloor before installation with normal method of nailing. 2" pni flooring nails every 8 inches. Somebody please tell me if im going to do this wrong. Me and another guy are doing this at a greatly reduced price for a mutual friend.
We both have moderate carpentry skills, and generally love doing stuff like this. We want to do this right. Should the heating and air have been running awhile before the flooring was placed in the house? Is there anything else I'm forgettng about? I've tried to be as meticulous as possible about the planning. Will moisture monitoring be necessary before installation in this case?

Yes. Above basement is key. The home needs to be acclimated and dried out before installation of the wood flooring. Also, felt is required if there is a heating element in the basement.
