Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with Kahrs Woodloc Floors? My husband and I are planning on installing this floor as a floating floor over a concrete subfloor. We are first time DIYers and were wondering if we were in over our heads by attempting this. Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you!

As long as you fully read and most importantly, FULLY understand the installation directions and preparation specs, you should be OK.

The most important part of the installation, is the prep before the first plank gets laid.

Hazel:

If you look through some of the messages on our board relating to floating floors, Kahrs always pops up as an installer favorite.

Why?
Excellant milling quality which translates into a much easier installation compared to other brands

In addition to what Perry mentions--keep an eye on expansion areas. The floor will GROW with the right amount of moisture in the environment.

Have you seen our pages on floating floors?

There are 5-6 pages of DIY tips at the link.

There's also about ten more DIY pages at this link
