Since I can't upload the pics .... the Developer of our building installed Australian Jarrah hardwood floors.

People are having problems with gapping, cracking, and cupping. I believe they didn't have proper climate control when they installed. The GC/Developer is towing a party line as follows: "These floors do that. It's very common. You have to wait 24 months for the planks to stop migrating, and then you can resand/refinish."

This sounds like b.s. to me. Thoughts from the pros? Z

They don't "do that" if proper acclimation and installation procedures are followed.

I didn't think so. I sent a more detailed description of the history. The GC/Developer is trying to convince everyone that the floors do that.

Ask him how long his head has been up his A$$!

Typical GC BS, Feed them a line, to get them off his back.

24 months - 2 years??? That's enough to be past his warranty time!!! Then he can scream, it is out of warranty.

I'm pretty sure his head has been up his colon for longer than 24 months. Hey FlooringGuy, are you near New York City? That's where my floors are. Thanks, Z
