Help...why are there several lighter handprints on my floor? This happened after the finish was applied. Is this from the installer or the refinisher? The installer was the only one to acutally touch the floor with bare hands as the others were using heavier rubber gloves to apply the stain (the handprints look like bare hands). The floors will need to be resanded and hopefully this will take care of the problem. This didn't show up when the floor was stained. These are new heart pine floors. Any ideas? Thanks.

handprints are areas with body oil and should be from the finishers as any handprints from the installers should have been sanded off. Maybe a family member put their hands on the floor?

Thanks for the input...may have been a family member or a worker as there was a lot of people in and out of the house after it was sanded. Is this type wood more likely to show this sort of thing than others? And is this unusual? Thanks in advance.

Nobody should be on the floor between sanding and finish. You or your finishers need to exercise proper jobsite discipline.
