I was at a hardwood course about a year ago where someone explained how the loose endmatching we're seeing on most products is actually done for a reason (not poor milling). My problem is that I've forgotten the explanation.
Can anyone provide me with this answer?

Flooring is milled with the endmatch "loose" purposely. SO IT CAN BE INSTALLED. A proper endmatch is made when the material is on a flat surface and the material will "fit" together on the floor with ease. Properly milled material will show the top of the tongue should support the bottom of the groove with the surface being level.
