I have a customer who is having me install 2 1/4" R & Q White Oak in this 1700's plantation house. Ive already S & F 600 sqft and now they ask if I can make their new Red Oak stair treads look like the new White Oak. I had told them before the new stairs were installed that they should get White Oak to match the floor but oh well here we are. Ive already put two coats of oil poly on the red oak treads so they will have to pay for another refinish. Any suggestions for tinting the new red oak the second time around?

Will never look the same, even with dark stain, to this pro's eye. Even if you bleached it, it would not look the same but would be closer.
