We live in lower Michigan, and are trying to decide what kind of hardwood floors to install. Got it narrowed down to hickory or mesquite. Would like any info. Really like mesquite, know it is stable and a very hard wood, but not much more than that. Thanks for any tips!

Buy what you like! You know the way mesquite looks, that it is hard and very stable. What else is there? Oh yeah, the cost! Yeah, it costs more than oak! :( Might cost more to have a pro install also!
