I'll be installing 5" hardwoods at my home on OSB. The installation instructions seem to mention using 6D or 8D nails. At the edges where I need to use a nail gun for face nailing and blind nailing the nail gun I have can only support 16 gauge and 18 gauge brads. Is this large enough for those? Or should I invest in getting another gun? With the amount I have to do drilling and counter sinking isn't really an option.

Thanks

15 Gauge would be better. 16 Gauge should be ok. 18 Gauge too light.

Thanks for the reply. I'll use the 16. I have a fair number of 1.5" already. Should these be sufficient or should I go out and get some 2"?

The 1.5" should be ok for face nailing. 2" would be better for the angle nailing through the floor tongues.....you'll get a bit more penetration into the subfloor.

I picked up some 2" today just in case. Sounds like I made the right call.
