How fast does it take for mold to set in? I have a new contruction job, 2 1/4 red oak with poly, that was leaked on by a faucet for a day or two, slow leak. The moisture read about 22% the day we caught it; if I take the wood out, do I have to worry about mold setting in. Also leaked under the cabinet where raw wood was.

There are 5 things needed for mold to grow.

moisture
no air circulation
no uv light
a food source
a mold spore

Eliminating one of those, and there is no worry of mold later.

Thanks very much for your reply. Since there was not a mold spore there already, and we're taking the wood out, you would say I'm OK?

Can you elaborate on the food source?
