 Post subject: Mullican Oak V/S Mohawk Oak with Scotchgard

I am looking to replace about 700 sq ft of carpet with Solid Hardwood floor -Nail down. We have it boiled down to two estimates.

One is for Mullican St Andrews Oak 3 and 3/4th. Gunstock color.
Second if Mohawk Oak with ScotchGard 3 and 1/4th.

The pricing is withing $200 of each other. Mullican one is cheaper. I have no idea which one is better. Mullican seems to have good reviews on this website. There are no reviews for Mohawk.

Can anyone please help? I live in No VA.

Stay away from the Mohawk. I have had nothing but trouble with their quality, and will no longer install it.

Mullican is a hardwood manufacturer...that is all they do. Mohawk is part of a big conglomerate that sells all types of flooring provided from numerous suppliers. In my opinion, buying Mohawk is a crapshoot, you don't know what you might get.

Thank you both for the reply. Makes me little more confident in going with Mullican plus it is cheaper estimate for me.
