Hey, guys. I don't have a 15 ga. finish nailer, but I do have a 16 ga. I have about half my 3/4", 2-1/4" oak hardwood strips done, and every time I start a new room I dread having to face nail by drilling and hand-nailing.

1. What do you think if I used the 16 ga. for face-nailing if I used more nails (say every 6 inches, or whatever you all would advise)?

2. If I do this, how would you proceed with the blind nailing of the start strip row and the 2nd row (until I get far enough away to use my pneumatic stapler)? I have been face-nailing AND blind nailing the very first row.

Thanks, guys. You all do a wonderful service, and I, for one, really do appreciate the good advice.

Carl

My finish nailer is a 16ga. Blind and face nail the starter, try and hit the joist with the face nails, and try to hide the face nails in some darker grain. I blind nail about 6" apart. Blind nail the next row.

Try to angle the nails at alterrating angles and you will be fine. walls are pretty low trafiic anyway, cutiing back th felt and running a bead of glue will add to the integrity if it looks like it will be a problem.
