My wife and I haven't committed yet, but we're considering a product by NAF. I've recently read that NAF is a Chinese import, but it's of decent quality, but I'd rather buy American if possible. What other manufacturer's are out there in the $5ish range for a hand scraped engineered product? Thanks.

Maybe look at Real Wood floors. Here is a link http://realwoodfloors.com/. I recently did a lot of shopping around for a client looking for the same type of product in the same price range and they have some pretty nice stuff that would fit into this range. They do not sell to the public or even to contractors such as myself, but your installer may be able to get ahold of it through their distributor.
