I had floors refinished for a new house and it didn't go well. Contractor does this as a side gig and has done several successful jobs for other folks around town but not mine. After the 4th coat of water based poly there was a lot of grit in the finish that you could easily feel. He smoothed it out with 220 sanding and is going to apply polish to remedy the resulting fogginess, but you can see the scars in sunlight reflection.

Based on this picture taken after the 220 sanding, any opinions on where I stand? Is this job un-salvageable and needs a complete do-over? Or is there a procedure that would properly "finish" the job without doing the entire thing again?

The floor will look much better with another coat of finish. He may want to tack the floor before applying the next coat
