We did a beautiful custom home a few years back. Laid 8" wide maple plank. The lady mustv'e thought it was harder than concrete. Got a call a few months later complaining about the floor. Seems they had a house warming party and some gal wore high heels. Well, the heels were missing the little rubber pad on the bottom and all she really had for a heel was the nail/brad thing that protrudes from the bottom of those types of heels. Everywhere she walked, little 1/4" dents. But most of the dents were in the kitchen, next to where the the buffet was set up!

What kind of floor guy would install a pre-finished product and allow for some thing that heavy to be pushed across the floor? I don't think there is a finish/wood combination out there that would allow for a piano to be pushed across without leaving marks.

That can be said for a lot of floors . I have seen heels go through Vinyl and the plywood underlayment .
