Hello. New to this group. Looking forward to contributing.
Question> doing a minor refinish on a 30+ year old parquet floor. Mostly in great shape. Dark stain/clear finish is intact with some areas that were not covered with carpet graying. A wipe with paint thinner brings it back to original until the thinner dries. My question is, can this type of floor be cleaned well and re-coated with a gelled poly applied with a hand pad. This is a very small area.
Your thoughts?

Poly-urethane will give the color that you see when you wet the floor with paint thinner. Clean with a hardwood floor cleaner and rinse off any residue. Let dry overnight then buff with 150 grit and hand sand edges for tooth for the coat. I would recommend two coats for extra wear after spending the time for prep.
