We just had hardwood floors installed. When we came home, we were shocked and extremely disappointed.

What are these marks - they look like SKID MARKS - they are all over the floors & stairs? what caused them? Trying to see how I can upload photos.

These are scraper marks from using a hand scraper.
Some people pay extra for the "hand" work.
I'm sorry you don't like the extra touch. It looks like it was done after the sanding process.
If this was not agreed to be done, you will need to have the floors sanded again to remove the texture...
