I'm installing a yellow pine, 3/4 x 6" plank floor and considering finishing it with pure tung oil. Other than being a slow dryer and needing multiple applications it appears to have these pluses: easy repair, water resistant, easy application. I'd appreciate learning more from anybody who has used pure tung oil, good or bad.

There are alot of finishes out there that will do better for you durability wise and be easier to maintain. You could do a waterlox, watco oil finish, or alot of others and then topcoat with a good poly and the durability will be ten fold to pure tung oil. Find several contractors and ask to see their work similar to the job you have.
