I didn't think I had pictures of this yet but I found them in my library.

This job had existing hardwood floors in a home that had an addition. The addition had the joists running the opposite direction. Additionally the post in the picture was not in line in any fashion with the adjacent wall where the transition meets. To follow the wall line meant it would intersect the post at an odd angle, or intersecting at a right angle meant it was not near a corner or following the wall line.

The customer hated this post it obstructed the wonderful views they had from the wall of full length windows from the entry. My goal was to create a transition that made some sense and in the end I hoped to have her forget how much she hated this post.
