Hello. I'm looking for a recommendation for a sound barrier on an upcoming condo project we're doing. We've been using Sika Acoubound system for condos with stricter sound requirements, but it's pricey and on a larger project the products for this system can exceed 10k.

So I'm hoping to find a potential alternative to offer. The current job I'm bidding requires an IIC & STC rating of 55 or greater. I like being able to glue down in these buildings as I've never been a big fan of floated floors.

So wondering if anyone knows of another underlayment/sound barrier system that would meet or exceed this rating, while allowing me to glue down the flooring.

Any advise will be appreciated.

If you find one let us know. I usually just float upstair condo's, it's faster.

Ken, seems like thats just for tile. I wonder what adhesive sticks to it and will the adhesive manufacturers will warranty it?

Proflex started in this area. It replaced cork, but I haven't seen it installed.
