I was wondering how red a red oak stain will become if used on white oak hardwood floors? Some pictures we've seen online show the stain developing into a very pink/bold color... instead of the dark red / warm stain we thought we were picking out for our home. Any thoughts? The stain used is minwax - if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for your thoughts

best thing to do is make some samples for yourself. Be sure to sand the sample boards with what you plan on sanding the floor up to so the color is close. If your are having it sanded then pick a few that you like and have the finisher put them on your actual floor and go from there.
