 Post subject: remove carpet staples/tacks from old hardwood floor

recently uncovered old hardwood floors (1965) am having trouble
removing the staples, the break off and are really hard to pull up.
we are using needlenose pliers, etc... help wood really be appriceated!

Try bigger pliers. It's a crappy job. I've done it many times.
